ABOUT OUR FAMILY
We are a family that has lived and farmed on this homestead for centuries, closely connected to the land and its rhythm. What we share with our guests today is a way of life that has been passed down from generation to generation.
Beekeeping, Lipizzaner breeding, and in recent years, organic farming are not just activities, but a way of life that we live every day. The homestead has always been closely connected to the natural environment through fishing, which was an important part of everyday survival in this area – as a reflection of time, natural conditions, and the relationship between man and nature.
In the past, the farm also operated a sawmill, where wood was processed for the needs of the farm and the surrounding area, and the tradition of working with wood is still alive today in the form of the preserved Venetian window.
Domačijo sva z veliko spoštovanja do njene zgodovine uredili in obnovili Vera in Maruša, mama in hči. Obnova je temeljila na izkušnjah in znanjih, ki jih prenašava tudi v najine druge projekte, kjer na podoben način povezujemo prostor, dediščino in sodobno rabo. Najina želja je bila ohraniti dušo stare domačije ter ji hkrati vdihniti novo življenje – ustvariti topel, domač prostor, kjer se lahko vsakdo počuti dobrodošlega. Upava, da boste v naši hiši začutili vsaj del pristnosti okolja, v katerem živimo.
